Pickup or drop-off?
Schedule a pickup when you have several ready shipments, heavy boxes, or no FedEx counter nearby. Drop-off is often faster for one or two parcels — tracking returns even points customers at their nearest drop-off location. Pickups booked through the plugin are regular FedEx pickup requests on your own account; FedEx’s own pickup fees and cut-off times apply. The one-click way: Schedule Global Pickup
WordPress Admin → FedEx Shipping → Pickup History has a Schedule Global Pickup card that creates one consolidated pickup covering every ready shipment — a shipment is ready when it is active (not canceled), has a FedEx tracking number, and is not already part of a pickup.1
Open Pickup History
Go to FedEx Shipping → Pickup History.

Pick a date
Dates start on the next business day; by default you can book up to 2 days ahead (a developer can widen that window with the
fshipping_pickup_max_days_ahead filter — see Hooks & filters).3
Schedule and confirm
Click Schedule pickup. The page lists the ready shipments it found — up to 12 tracking numbers plus the total count — and after you confirm, FedEx returns a confirmation number that is attached to every shipment the pickup covers.
One-off pickups for a single shipment
Need a courier for just one order? The Pickup column in Shipments & Printings requests (and later cancels) a pickup for that shipment alone. Single and consolidated pickups both appear in the Pickup History table — the Scope column tells you which is which.Cancel or re-book
Every row in Pickup History has a Cancel pickup button. Cancelling calls FedEx’s cancel endpoint and clears the pickup data from the linked shipments — those shipments become “ready” again, so you can book a new pickup for them. Cancelling a pickup never cancels the shipments themselves.Sandbox pickups are not real
While Environment is set to Sandbox on the Account tab, pickup requests are test requests — FedEx returns confirmation numbers but will never collect anything. See Going live when you are ready for real collections.Related
